Thanks so much for sharing the Vanity Fair article (An Oral History of the Bush White House). I was beyond sad to read quotes from people high in the administration corroborating the beliefs held by many outside the political scene for some time - that war with Iraq was contrived for the sole purpose of demonstrating America's might; that the very highest levels tacitly approved torture at Abu Ghraib and elsewhere; that The Deciders acted without regard for or interest in facts or consequences - acting on the basis of whim, ego, and unbridled hubris.

I truly hope our incoming president implements cultural change in Washington and hope he makes strides in uniting constituencies both within our country and between our country and the global community.

Ate at IHOP this week and hot syrup was brought to the table. Don't know if it was the waitress or if it's store by store.

Thoughts on Random Thoughts:
1) I had the same thought about Michael Vick ending up here. If we had a real NFL coach in charge of the Cowboys it would be a no-go, but Wade doesn’t have veto authority here. The only thing keeping him out of here is if Vick’s style of run and pass is incompatible with whatever system a new offensive coordinator might install. With all the running Vick likes to do, that’s just less receptions for T.O.
2) I see Denver pushing hard to get Cowher.
3) I read a few of the excerpts from the Vanity Fair article; some of those staffers and former allies really had their knives out for Bush…it will probably only get worse as time goes by. I still see Cheney as the real villain of this administration. I wonder who Dubya trusted more for advice, 41 or Cheney?
4) If you ever have trouble sleeping, tune into one of the CSPAN stations, preferably CSPAN3, turn the sound way down so you can barely hear it and then try to concentrate on what’s being said. You’ll be out in five to ten minutes.
5) The $26 million to the Shuttle crewmembers reminds me about the $2 million that went to each of the victim families after 9/11. And that does not include monies given to them by charities. The Oklahoma Bombing victim families received nothing.
6) After reading the 50 New Facts from 2008, it was interesting to learn that ground penetrating radar found massive volumes of frozen water below Mars’ surface; sad to see that dogs can be jealous; and encouraging to hear that if your kid has ADHD he may find success if he ever decides to join a tribe of nomads.
6) Happy New Year, Keith!

Happy New Year to the Geeding's.

I always learn something when I read your bags of randomness...thank you! (14 calendars, indeed)

I look forward to the inspiration, humor, and just plain time-wasters you come up with in 2009!
