Although I really enjoy your stream-of-consciousness posts, I’m rarely driven to respond – but this time I had to. The comment is, “Me TOO!!!” regarding your sixth bullet point. Yes, the president’s job is to protect and defend the nation and yes, it’s disconcerting that there’s been so much attention paid to who’s passing through the barn doors now that the horses have gone – or rather, now that the trojan horse made its appearance (as announced, with the announcement ignored). Too many resources are devoted to keeping open water bottles off airplanes. Our nation’s integrity and credibility have been stained by indeterminate detention of people without charge, by torture, by warrantless wiretaps, and by declaration of and engagement in war based on false and contrived pretenses – not to mention declaration of war on a *concept*, which by its very definition is unwinnable and everlasting.

Until a Valkryie type plan is successful in eliminating Jerry, the Cowboys will never be successful. Getting the band back together for another year is comical. Jerry will have us back to 5-11 next year at best.

You’ll enjoy The Right Stuff. It has some strange and slow moments, but it far surpasses the cheesiness of the Ron Howard/Disneyesque historical drama.

Boys Will Be Boys is a fantastic book. Anyone who lived and died by the Cowboys of the 90’s will love it.
