1. I had a hard time getting McCain/Palin stickers, it took 3 weeks before they mailed. I think that's why I don't see that many.

2. The University of Pennsylvania are still the Quakers. Kind of hard to work that into a fight song, so we sing "Hang Jeff Davis" instead.

1) Translate Barack from Swahili into English and you get “That One”.
2) When I started working in an office and was required to wear a suit I purchased two pairs of expensive plain-toed, lace shoes: one pair of black and one pair of brown. The upper portion never wore out and never went out of style. Over the next 20 years I had them re-soled and put new heels on them numerous times. They still look like new. I’m thinking about putting them in my will. And there’s no way I would throw out an expensive pair of cowboy boots that are completely broken in when they just need to be resoled. Maybe I’m frugal or maybe it’s just a generational thing.
3) I can’t imagine an internet ballot. First, there is no way to guarantee a hacker wouldn’t be able to pull off an enormous, nationwide election fraud. If it was big enough, the election might have to be repeated. Second, if voters are so lazy and disinterested that they don’t want to get off their sofa for one day every four years to vote for their next president then they probably shouldn’t be voting [just my opinion].

I like Pushing Daisies. But does it bug you that they play background music through almost the ENTIRE show? I listen for it now. And it bothers me.

Only one person that has had shoes resoled...that is because you are still young. As your peers age they will start investing in higher quality shoes/boots. On these, when the soles wear out the rest of the shoe/boot is still in good shape, therefore resoling makes sense. When you pay less than $100 for a pair resoling is usually not very cost effective.

There was also a year when the "mascot"/logo was the Blue Jay. It was the result of a fan contest to create a new logo, but there was a legal issue with John Hopkins University, whose mascot was the blue jay, so back to the traditional Phillies "P" it was.

Also I can not wait for the newest Simpsons Treehouse of Horror episode. There is a long history of The Simpsons paying homage to Peanuts, but this one looks like it will be the best.

FYI: It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown will be on ABC next Tuesday at 8pm EST.
