1) I agree about the Mahler movie. There have been a number of books out lately making the atheism argument. I don’t think they should be ignored. Their most serious complaints don’t seem to be so much about a belief in God as they are about the dangers of promoting one particular religion over another to the point it creates discrimination and conflict.
2) Congrats on your progress with the Southwest blog…your efforts may pay off after all.
3) The Secretary of Treasury job wouldn’t be so bad if Paulson had gotten his original plan approved, which gave him the personal authority to spend the $700 billion without any review by any agency or any court, to include the Supreme Court. Now that’s chutzpah.
4) According to the WSJ, The Big Three banks now have 30% of all U.S. deposits.
5) The Republicans didn’t do themselves any favors (or McCain) by giving a press conference after the failure to pass the Bailout Bill and claiming that they defected because their feelings were bruised by Pelosi’s speech.

I'm not surprised about the "Bacon and Burgers". This Summer I went to Europe and literally EVERY city I went to, there were people packing into the McDonalds. It was shocking.

But honestly, its the only cheap food in Europe. Everywhere else, you end up spending way more than you wanted to.

However, it's a little disconcerting being in Germany, just having gone to a Concentration Camp, then seeing a McDonalds sign in the plains less than a mile away.
