Tomato Garden

An old Italian man lived alone in New Jersey .  He wanted to plant his annual tomato garden, but it was very difficult work, as the ground was hard.  His only son, Vincent, who used to help him, was in prison.

The old man wrote a letter to his son and described his predicament:

—–
Dear Vincent,
I am feeling pretty sad, because it looks like I won’t be able to plant my tomato garden this year.  I’m just getting too old to be
digging up a garden plot.  I know if you were here, my troubles would be over.  I know you would be happy to dig the plot for me, like in the old days.
Love,
Papa
—–

A few days later he received a letter from his son.

—–
Dear Pop,

Don’t dig up that garden. That’s where the bodies are buried.
Love,Vinnie

—–

At 4am the next morning, FBI agents and local police arrived and dug up the entire area without finding any bodies.

They apologized to the old man and left.  That same day the old man received another letter from his son.

—–
Dear Pop,

Go ahead and plant the tomatoes now.  That’s the best I could do under the circumstances.
Love you, Vinnie

[Thanks, JB]

Reminds me of the movie “Forget Paris”

NEW YORK – A man who tried to send his late wife’s body to their native Ecuador for burial is suing American Airlines and a funeral home, claiming her remains were sent to the wrong country.

Miguel Olaya, 60, says he hired the DeRiso Funeral Home in New York City to ship his wife’s body to Guayaquil, Ecuador, on April 1, but the coffin wasn’t at the airport when he went to meet it. He also claims the body was badly decomposed because it wasn’t properly embalmed.

Christopher Robles, Olaya’s lawyer, said the airline gave his client conflicting stories.

“First, they didn’t know where her body was. Then, they said maybe it was in Miami, and finally they said it was in Guatemala,” the lawyer said Tuesday. “Instead of sending it on the flight to Guayaquil, American sent the body to Guatemala City.”

On The Rocks

Nordic Rock is mined from ancient Swedish pollution-free base rock. It is the purest way of cooling your drink – literally ‘on the rocks’. Stone does not melt, which means no unclean water in your glass. They are also reusable making them very eco-friendly.

Selling Her Virginity To Pay For College

Expected to step on the block, so to speak, of Stern’s Sirius radio studio is a San Diego woman who says she wants to sell her maidenhood to pay her college tuition.

“I don’t have a moral dilemma with it,” says the pretty brunette, who’s using the pseudonym of Natalie Dylan “for safety reasons.”

“We live in a capitalist society,” she tells us. “Why shouldn’t I be allowed to capitalize on my virginity?”

There won’t be any questions about Dylan’s virtue: The lass says she’s willing to submit to a polygraph test and a gynecological exam to confirm her virginity.

According to Dylan, she and her sister were forced into the skin trade partly because their stepfather allegedly took out student loans in their names without their permission, leaving them unable to finance their education.

She says she’s already earned her bachelor’s degree in women’s studies at Sacramento State and that in January she’ll start her master’s work in marriage and family therapy there. She hopes to get a doctorate.

Meanwhile, her mother, a “conservative” fourth-grade teacher, doesn’t approve of what she’s doing, “but she supports me.”

Oldest dog Bella the Labrador dies – aged 29

Bella, a Labrador cross, was bought by David Richardson from the RSPCA, 26 years ago when she was three years old.

She had lived with Mr Richardson, 76, and his partner Daisy, 81, since 1982 in Clay Cross, Derbyshire.

But she was put down on Saturday following a heart attack while on holiday with the couple.

Until Bella the record for the oldest dog was held by Butch, a 28-year-old from America who died in 2003, according to the Guinness World Records. Officially, the oldest ever dog was Bluey, a sheepdog from Australia, who lived to 29.

A 12-year-old has been taken to hospital with burns after blowing up a petrol can while breaking wind.

The boy was attempting to set fire to his farts as part of a competition against his cousin in the garden of a house in Tipton when the accident occurred.

Fire fighters were called to the address but the small blaze had already burned itself out when the crew arrived.

Officers administered first aid until an ambulance arrived.

The victim was taken to Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley suffering from 18 per cent burns to the backs of his legs and his thumb.

Watch commander Paul Harpin, from Tipton station, said it was the first time he had been called out to deal with such an incident.

SpinSpotter for FireFox

Spin doesn’t belong in the news. It’s like putting motor oil in the mojito. We have tremendous respect for journalists, but who would argue that the media circus isn’t out of control? A full 66% of Americans think the press is one-sided. Now there’s a website and software tool that exposes news spin and bias, misuse of sources, and suspect factual support. At SpinSpotter, you’ll experience the news in a profound new way. Yes, the truth is back in town.
