Reports: Fallon to succeed Conan on ‘Late Night’

Jimmy Fallon appears to be inching closer to Conan O’Brien’s “Late Night” chair.

For months, Fallon has been widely considered the top choice to succeed O’Brien when he steps down next year. On Thursday, published reports said Fallon has signed, or soon will sign, a deal with NBC.

    Did NBC mention why they are trying to destroy Late Night? Didn’t see that in the article.

    In fairness though, when Conan came on I couldn’t stomach watching his show, but he’s grown on me a lot over the years. I’ve converted more to The Daily Show and Colbert Report lately, but I still like Conan. I do think its a bad idea to push Leno out though, I like his monologues better than any of the others.

    So its possible Jimmy Fallon could pull it off. I’m kind of surprised (and glad) they’re not giving it to Carson Daily though. He’s been putting in his time in that 1:30 a.m. hour for a while now.
