Crazy Water

I’m a product of Mineral Wells, TX.  It was never much, but it was always home.

Mineral Wells got its name, of course, from the mineral water, and back in they day celebrities such as Judy Garland and Clark Gable use to visit the grand Baker Hotel to bathe in the waters.  Later science found out that the ‘crazy water’ was nothing more than a diaretic, and the town was no longer booming.

The other day the local news went out to this town of 16,000 to do a story about the historic crazy water.  It was nice to see my home town in the news, and I thought I would share the segment with you.

I am from Mineral Wells too! I left in 78 after 6th grade. I would have been a 84 Graduate. I loved Mineral wells…we lived in a popular land mark of a Square 2 Story house off of Jacksboro Highway. We had friends who lived out on Western Mountain….you heard of either one?
