Russian woman gives birth to 17lb child

A Siberian woman who gave birth to her 12th child – doing more than her fair share to stem Russia’s population decline – was stunned to find that little Nadia weighed in at a massive 17.1 lb (7.75kg).

For the next two weeks

My posts are going to be very sporadic since I’ll be in Boston for a business trip.

Some days you may only get four posts, and other days you may get what you usually expect from BON.

NFL Prognostication Week 4

Wow – week 4 of the NFL season is here, which means a quarter of the regular season games will have been played after this week.  Thank goodness the bye week helps extend things a bit.

Two weeks ago I was on a plane flying from Boston to Dallas while the Cowboys were playing!  It really pains me to miss a Cowboys game, and it will hurt even more this Sunday as I will be flying from Dallas to Boston DURING THE GAME!  URGHHH!!!  Not only am I missing out on my beloved Cowboys, but I’m missing out on all my NFL Sunday Ticket enjoyment.  It’s time for me to put the Slingbox to the test – too bad I can’t do that in the air.

On to my picks which are in bold:

Texans at Falcons
Jets at Bills
Raiders at Dolphins
Bears at Lions
Rams at Cowboys
Ravens at Browns
Packers at Vikings
Seahawks at 49ers
Buccaneers at Panthers
Broncos at Colts
Chiefs at Chargers
Steelers
at Cardinals
Eagles at Giants
Patriots at Bengals

Busy Day At Work – 5 Word Collaborative Story Filling In

It was a very busy Thursday night and I just won’t have time to post anything this morning.

So in the place of any posts this Friday, lets open up the BON 5 Word Collaborative Story Game again.

The Rules:

I start off creating a sentence with five words.

Each comment should contain exactly five words, and those five words should help to build a collaborative story.  Feel free to throw punctuation anywhere you desire.

Post any number of comments you wish, just don’t post two comments in a row.

If there is a violation of any of the rules, just ignore the comment in which the rule is broken and I’ll delete it sometime later.

So let’s begin . . .

Keith flys to Boston again . . .

High-Tech Churches Worry Traditional Worshippers

It’s no secret that churches have stepped up their technology use as more projection screens adorn the front of churches and more preachers maintain a prominent presence on the Internet.

“I feel like it’s too much and it takes over the worship,” said the Rev. Dorothy LaPenta, pastor of the 150-member Hope Presbyterian Church in Mitchellville, according to The Washington Post. “People will just be sitting there, their eyes fixated on the screen. They’re waiting to be given something instead of participating.”

How to Share Your Faith Using Halo 3

Over 1.25 million pre-orders for Halo 3 have been placed globally. That’s a lot of fire power! The widely-anticipated videogame is expected to blowout previous sales records by selling more copies in the US on its first day of release than any other game or movie in history. Halo 3 is rated M for mild language and violence, so please understand that this is not in any way an endorsement of the game. But love it or hate it, the Halo series has already taken the teen gaming culture by storm. So let’s take a look at how you can take this videogame buzz and turn it into an opportunity to talk about spiritual things with your friends.
