Does the Bible drop the S-bomb?

hol0bible.jpegYou need to be warned that this post contains a bad word. But it does so only because the Bible itself contains a bad word. I never knew that. You don’t know it either, because you’ve been protected from knowing it.

It appears in Philippians 3:8 (which I’ve recently been working on for my 3rd semester Greek class at seminary)

  1. imho

An excellent read. An important, but sometimes uncomfortable truth of Christianity.

  2. Cajun Pastor says:

Yes, it’s true. All except the part about this being some hidden secret of the Bible that everyone’s been protected from hearing. I’ve heard several ministers reference this passage in sermons and say that this is the strongest and most vulgar tern for excrement. I have spoken on this passage and have told people that Paul felt so strongly about this that he used the harshest language possible.

So, yes, this is an accurate reading of the Bible. Pretty cool, eh?

  3. No Evil Doer says:

I remember hearing my grandmother (a staunch, law-abiding Christian) utter these words when she was most frustrated: “Well, shiate fire and save the match!”

  4. darren says:
