Blind Hunters Have a Friend in Texas

A Texas lawmaker is trying to end discrimination in hunting. He’s introduced a bill that would give legally blind hunters extra aids. Blind people can now hunt in Texas as long as a seeing companion points out the prey. This bill would allow blind hunters to use spotlights and lasers, currently illegal, that can cause animals to freeze. The lawmaker says his bill “opens up the fun of hunting to additional people, and I think that’s great.”

This sounds more like murder than hunting…..and I think a lot of today’s “hunting” has become “murder”. There is no skill in sitting in a baited blind waiting for a hungry animal! I’m sure PapaToots would be able to explain the difference, but I doubt I would accept his explanation.
