What happened to the horse?
He one the Kentucky Derby, but broke his leg racing in the Preakness.
I had to take Norm Hitzges to task on the sport of horse racing today. People who dig horse racing are willing to accept hundreds, if not thousands of horse injuries per year (some being fatal). I’ll be keeping a kind thought for this animal…and poor thoughts for people who are willing to accept these casualties so that they can be entertained.
You make some good points I really haven’t thought about before. I think I may have only been two races, but your commetns are going to make be think twice when I watch a race from now on.
The same observation can be made about a lot of our
“entertainment” these days…..lots of money, time and effort, w/ a possibility of injury. And then to continue to play following an injury is absolutely STUPID! Does no one look at the long term effect?
