Contradiction Part II?

“I think people who want to be citizens of this country ought to learn English,” Bush said

Personally, I agree with the above statement.  If my mother and sister could do it, I know others can as well.

However, why did the president make sure that www.whitehouse.gov have a Spanish translated version?

I appreciate so very much the website being available in more than just one language.  There are a lot of Spanish-speaking folks in America and they’ll be able to access the website.  Link

D.C. prayer rally to seek lower gas prices

WASHINGTON, April 26 (UPI) — A U.S. Christian group has grown tired of escalating gasoline prices and is set to stage a national prayer rally to lower the numbers at the pumps.

Various Christian clergy from around the country will convene around a Washington, D.C., gas station Thursday at noon to pray. For those who can’t attend, a live Internet site and toll-free prayer line have been established.

In a release, the Pray Live group said many people are “overlooking the power of prayer when it comes to resolving this energy crisis.”

Apart from sending a message to God, the rally had a message for humanity, said Wenda Royster, the group’s founder.

“It is our hope that seeing and hearing some of the nation’s most powerful preachers gathered around a gas station and the United States capital as a backdrop, will remind everyone who is really in charge of our world — God,” Royster said.

The Web site is at praylive.com. The toll-free phone number is 888-PRAYLIVE.  Link

RateMyTurban.com

http://www.ratemyturban.com/

I was visiting India in October to celebrate my birthday with my grandmother and noticed several cool styles and colours of turbans in Delhi.  I wanted to showcase turbans as an art form and try to revive the majestic roots of turbans. Furthermore, todays Sikhs are commonly confused for Muslims and I wanted to think of a creative way to showcase Sikhs and their royal turbans in a positive way to the general public, and also show Sikh youths that wearing a turban is cool and fashionable.

Easily mispronounced domain names

Some of these really crack me up.

For example:

Powergenitalia.com – An Italian power company.

Therapistfinder.com – Find a therapist.

Explosive chocolate bomb

chocbom.jpegOur advice would be to place the bomb on a tray or solid plate in the centre of a cleared table, place the safety guard (included) around the bomb with further clear space around that. Light the wick and stand well back and wait. Do not remove the cardboard base from the bomb and like a firework do not return to the bomb once lit in the unlikely event it should fail to explode. (safety instructions included).

Buy one here if you live in the UK.

Yet another teacher having ‘relations’ with a student

McMINNVILLE, Tenn. — The former elementary school teacher convicted of sleeping with a student and now accused of sending him sex videos of herself by cell phone is “sick” and should leave the boy alone, his mother told The Tennessean yesterday.

Rogers, 28, sent some of the illicit images to her former student even as she was being prosecuted on charges that she violated her probation by reaching out to him via messages on her MySpace.com Web page and blog.

In addition to the videos and nude photos, Rogers sent a barrage of text messages and phone calls to the boy in the past month, according to an arrest warrant issued Monday.

Hi-tech toilet swallows woman

A 51-year-old woman was yesterday subjected to a harrowing two-hour ordeal when she was imprisoned in a hi-tech public convenience.

Maureen Shotton, from Whitley Bay, was captured by the maverick cyberloo during a shopping trip to Newcastle-upon-Tyne. The toilet, which boasts state-of-the-art electronic auto-flush and door sensors, steadfastly refused to release Maureen, and further resisted attempts by passers-by to force the door.
